In 2022, CDP had another record year, with nearly 20,000 entities disclosing their impact on climate, water and nature. With a six-year deadline to halve global emissions and restore nature, time is of the essence, and collectively we need to do more.
In 2024, CDP will launch a new disclosure framework on a new technology platform, delivering a significant improvement in how organizations disclose through CDP and how this helps drive climate action.
Disclosure Framework
Questionnaires will be more efficient, user-friendly, and less complex. The new disclosure framework will enable you to more easily meet the demands ahead, as the global economy enters a new era of mandatory disclosure.
1. The questionnaire will be integrated across all existing themes, reducing duplication for those requested on climate, forests and water.
2. We are reducing complexity, restructuring the questionnaire so it reduces the time it takes to disclose.
3. The questionnaire will be ISSB S2 Climate Standard aligned, assisting you to get ahead of mandatory disclosure and providing benefits beyond those required by local regulation.
4. We are also introducing a dedicated SME questionnaire, aligned to how small and medium enterprises impact our planet.
Disclosure Technology
CDP is currently building a modern, fit-for-purpose, scalable technology platform with an intuitive interface that will enhance user experience. The improvements will cover disclosure management, disclosing, and accessing our data:
1. Introducing streamlined end-to-end journey making it easier to disclose and access data and disclosure information.
2. Improved stability, while enabling disclosers to better work collaboratively with their colleagues, and increased self-service functionalities.
3. New disclosure management functionalities for requesting authorities to better track disclosure progress.
What it means for you
To enable us to fully transform our systems and for you to prepare for the new disclosure environment, the timing of the disclosure cycle will change for 2024:
1. The response window for corporates to submit will be from early June 2024 to September 2024.
2. The new platform will be available in April 2024.
3. We aim for scores to be available before the end of 2024.
4. You will still receive a separate score for climate, forests and water.
